Most people that know me probably know by now that I'm leaving on February 27th...
TO GO TO CAMBODIA!
And if you didn't know, well then, there you go. I'm extremely excited, to say to least.
We're going to be doing a lot of different things, like manual labor building pews and spreading gravel and other excited stuff like that. We're going to be spending a lot of time at orphanages hanging out with the kids and showing them some serious love. This will be my first mission trip abroad, so I am kind of nervous, but that's miniscule compared to how excited and pumped I am about sharing the love of Christ with the people over there.
Airports give me extreme anxiety, so that will definitely need a lot of prayer and peace that only comes from God. So many amazing blessings have already taken place and doors have been opened, God has totally made this trip possible. We definitely couldn't have done it ourselves.
I praise God for the privilege it is to have an opportunity like this to be His hands and feet and spread His love... I can't even explain! Thank God. In everything. No matter what.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Opportunities
I'm blown away on a regular basis by how amazing God is and it never ceases to amazing me how gracious He is in providing opportunities for you when you step out in obedience and honor Him.
I was invited to speak at a couple of youth groups in a couple of months, so I'm really excited. It's not about me, though. Something I'm definitely praying for a lot is that they recognize Him, not me. I don't want to develop a reputation as some cool poet or speaker or anything, I just want them to understand how real God's reputation is for saving and changing lives, and that He's the same God from the bible that performed miraculous things no one could believe; He's still doing that.
I pray that every word, every step, every thought points directly to Him and not myself.
Sometimes I used to think that it was hard not giving the glory to God or giving Him credit for things instead of myself (pride is an issues for a lot of people, just to varying degrees). As humans we like to take credit when cool stuff goes down. But sitting back and really thinking about it, I feel so RELIEVED to know I can just completely rely on Him, know it will all work out, and not worry about how I could screw it up. If I get caught up giving myself credit for the good, then (being human) I'm going to mess it up somehow because I'm a goof and then the blame's on me. When I allow God to take control, there's no worry that it's going to go wrong in any way. Problem arise when I try to take a little bit of control every now and then (still working on that).
Anyways, I'm very thankful for the opportunities I'm blessed with by God and I pray that I use them to honor and glorify Him in every aspect. Please pray for me, also.
